Corolla Flooding - Michael

Soundside piers in corolla took a beating during the remnants of Hurricane Michael. We had our pier redone this past summer so it’s still standing. But a neighbors pier wasn’t so lucky and ended up in top of ours. The water is usually a few feet below the walkway. As you can see in the picture it’s still almost level.

Wow! I was wondering how you did.

Lighthouse FB page posted pictures of flooding at the Whalehead Club dock area.

Any water under the house?

RE: Corolla Flooding - Michael

That looks like a mess to clean up. Did you house make out?

RE: Corolla Flooding - Michael

No problem at the house. Just the pier.

The sound came up into Salvo last night too. My wife was there, and from what she described, NC12 had to be 1-2 feet in places, at least.

Ugh. Guess I was fooling myself thinking there would be nothing in corolla. My ground floor has already flooded once this year, hope I don’t have a second time.

… My ground floor has already flooded once this year …

When was that? With the 17" - 22" of rain a couple of months ago?

Yeah. It wasn’t bad. So I shouldn’t complain. But still a nuisance.
